AAFP and ACOG recommend that non–medically indicated (elective) inductions of labor or C-sections should be scheduled after what 39 weeks, 0 days gestational age.

Delivery prior to 39 weeks, 0 days is associated with an increased risk of learning disabilities and may increase morbidity and mortality.
