A simple abscess with no overlying cellulitis should be treated with incision and drainage alone. It doesn’t require antibiotics.
If there is surrounding erythema / overlying cellulitis, treat with antibiotics. When treating cellulitis, remember purulent vs. nonpurulent categorization.
