Diagnosis
Bacterial vaginosis is diagnosed by the presence of 3 out of 4 Amsel criteria.
Treatment
BV is treated Same as that of Trichomoniasis with Metronizadole.
Oral and topical clindamycin and metronidazole are equally effective at treating BV.

Background
Bacterial vaginosis(BV), trichomoniasis, and vulvovaginal candidiasis are the most common infectious causes of vaginitis.
BV occurs when the normal lactobacilli of the vagina are replaced by mostly anaerobic bacteria.

**Normal vaginal pH (4.0–4.5)
