Indication: To make a diagnosis of stress incontinence when it is suspected.
Method: 
Have the patient stand upright with a full bladder. The clinician visualizes the urethra as the patient performs a Valsalva maneuver or coughs. The goal is to determine whether or not there is leakage of urine from the urethra. 

This test is also called the standing bladder stress test or standing Valsalva maneuver or Cough Stress Test.
