Causes of Bronchiolitis Obliterans with Organizing Pneumonia (BOOP)

  • Connective tissue disorders,
  • Radiation therapy,
  • Inhalation of toxic gases
  • Inflammatory bowel disease,
  • Cause unknown. In many cases, the underlying cause of BOOP is unknown. These are termed Idiopathic BOOP or cryptogenic organizing pneumonia (COP)
