#Deviated Septum and inferior turbinate hypertrophy
28 yo w/ difficulty breathing out of left nostril.
Tx:
-Surgery: Septoplasty and Turbinoplasty.
-Allergy testing.
80% of the population have deviated septum from birth. Only 20% need surgery.
Indications for referral to ENT
- Persistent one-sided difficulty breathing.
- Persistent one-sided headaches. From septum impinging on the turbinate and causing it to become sore and presenting as a chronic one-sided headache.
