A timeout procedure was completed before the actual procedure. The infant was developmentally positioned on the circumcision board. The genital area was scrubbed x 3 with a povidone-iodine solution. Sterile drapes were laid. Dorsal penile nerve block was given with 2 injections of 0.1mL of 1% lidocaine. The foreskin was clamped at each side fo the meatus, dorsal clamp was applied and foreskin divided with scissors. The foreskin was retracted over the glans, and adhesions lysed with probe. A  1.3 Gomco clamp was applied and tightened. The foreskin was severed with a #10 scalpel. The Gomco clamp was removed after 5 minutes and the area was cleansed. The circumcision site was dressed with petroleum gauze. The procedure was tolerated well. Estimated blood loss was <1.0 mL. The procedure was discussed with the parents, who seemed to understand the need for the procedure as well as the risks and benefits
