-Oral Propranolol. Complicated hemangiomas e.g. large segmental hemangiomas, facial hemangiomas, airway or periorbital hemangiomas or those with large ulcerations should be treated with systemic propranolol. FDA has approved a pediatric preparation of Propranolol hydrochloride (Hemangeol for that purpose. Oral propranolol is the first-line treatment for complicated hemangiomas that might impair function, cause disfigurement, or cause cardiac /neurovascular complications.
