Board Exam / In-training Exam Tips

Read AAFP Journal articles. They cycle major topics in family medicine about every 4-5 years. If you were to Google a topic and limit the search to AAFP articles, you will find that articles on the same topic come up every three years.

Study previous ITE exam questions in conjunction with reading corresponding AAFP journal articles. Do so at the same time and ideally start with a question and then proceed to read the article or articles reference. It may be a slow process but it’s the only way to get hold of the content and understand it.

Use the 80/20 rule or Pareto principle.
