Subacute Kidney Injury in an Outpatient Setting

-Patient with a subacute kidney injury.
-Etiology: Classified as Prerenal (decreased renal perfusion), Intrinsic renal (pathology of the vessels, glomeruli, or tubulointerstitium), or postrenal (obstructive).
-Initial testing: Dipstick, UA with microscopy, quantification of urine protein or albumin (by random or “spot” protein-to-creatinine ratio or albumin-to-creatinine ratio), and a renal ultrasound.
