• Molarity = Moles / 1 Liter Solvent.
  • Molality = Moles / 1 Kg Solvent.
  • Osmolarity = Osmoles / 1 Liter Solution
  • Osmolality = Osmoles / 1 kg / Solvent

Molarity, Molality, Osmolarity, and Osmolality define or describe one solution.

Tonicity (hypo, iso, hyper-tonic) is a word used to compare two solutions.

Serum Osmolality = (2Na+) + (glucose / 18) + (BUN / 2.8)  = 285 (normally)
