Procedure Checklist

Upon patient arrival.

  1. UCG test
  2. Implant insertion and consent form
  3. Complete Patient Implant Insertion Checklist

In procedure room.

  1. Povidone iodine or Chlorhexidine in cup with swabs
  2. 2 cc 1% Lidocaine with 25 gauge x 1.5” needle and syringe OR Spray-on anesthesia
  3. Nexplanon package
  4. Marker
  5. Gauze 4” x 4” (sterile)
  6. Bandage
  7. Adhesive and pressure dressing (e.g. CobanTM)
  8. Normal Saline
  9. Gloves (sterile), Size 7 (for me)
  10. Antibiotic ointment.
