In the EHR, search for Metoprolol tartrate.
Order:
Metoprolol tartrate 5 mg IV Push, Q5 Minutes, x 3 doses For Heart Rate.
Chose duration to be 3 doses. Select STAT so that it’s given immediately.
Under Order Comments section, copy and paste (or type) the following instructions:
| Metoprolol tartrate 5 mg IV Push over 2 minutes
For HR > 110, repeat dose Q5 minutes until HR less than 110 or 3 doses given. After that, call the physician if HR still elevated. |
