≥ 40 Year Old

  1. Cervical cancer: women 21 to 64 years. Pap smear Q3yr for 21-29. After that q3rs or q5 w/ HPV co-testing
  2. Breast cancer: women 40 years. Mammogram q1yr to 2yr.
  3. Osteoporosis: All women 65 years or postmenopausal women < 65 years who are at increased risk of osteoporosis. DEXA scan. FRAX score for those < 65 years.
  4. Colon Cancer: 50 years continuing till 75 years
  5. Lung cancer: 55-80 years using annual LDCT in adults who have 30 pack-year smoking hx and either currently smoke or have quit within the past 15 yrs.
  6. Prostate cancer (PSA): Men aged 55 to 69 years, shared decision-making. Some societies rec starting @ 40 years w/ very high risk patients.
  7. AAA: Men 65-75 years who have ever smoked. Abd U/S x 1.
  8. Statin preventive Rx: 40 to 75 years with no hx of ASCVD, 1 or more ASCVD risk factors, and a calculated 10-year CVD event risk of 10% or greater.
  9. Hyperlipidemia: 40 to 75 yrs with no hx of ASCVD and 1 or more ASCVD risk factors
  10. Diabetes: 40 to 70 y/o who are overweight or obese (USPSTF).
  11. Blood pressure: ≥ 18 years. Get readings outside of the clinical setting to confirm dx b4 starting treatment.
  12. Obesity: 6 years and older.
  13. HCV: People born b/n 1945-65 or risk factors for HCV (IVDU, blood transfusion, etc)
  14. HIV: 15 to 65 years. Younger or older pts at increased risk.
  15. PrEP: to persons who are at high risk of HIV acquisition.
  16. Chlamydia: women 24 years who are sexually active and women >24 years at increased risk.
  17. Gonorrhea: women ≤ 24 years who are sexually active and women >24 years at increased risk for infection.
  18. Syphilis: Persons at increased risk for infection.
  19. STD counseling: All sexually active adolescents. Also, adults who are at increased risk for STIs.
  20. Tuberculosis: Populations at increased risk
  21. Depression: Adolescents, adults, and postpartum women & treat.
  22. Alcohol abuse: adults 18 years or older, including pregnant women.  Tx w/ brief behavioral counseling.
  23. Tobacco use: All adults + advise them to quit smoking + behavioral & FDA Rx to quit.
  24. Intimate partner violence: Women of reproductive age and provide or refer women who screen positive to ongoing support services.

 

< 40 years

  1. Skin cancer: 6 months to 24 years with fair skin types.  Counsel parents & pts to minimize  exposure to UV radiation.
  2. Vision screening: Ages 3 to 5 years to detect amblyopia or its risk factors.
  3. Many of those above.
