Bathing and showering are equally good options.

Option 1: Shower for a short duration
Shower with lukewarm (not hot), not hot water. Use an emollient wash when possible. Use soap sparingly, only where and when necessary.  Pat (not rub) to dry the skin, and then apply lotion on the damp skin to lock in the moisture after showering.

Option 2: A Hydrating Bath
Use lukewarm (not hot) water. Bathe in it for 15-20 minutes. Use an emollient wash when possible. Use soap sparingly, only where and when necessary.  Pat (not rub) to dry the skin, and then apply lotion on the damp skin to lock in the moisture after bathing.

How often should you bath/shower? The frequency is still a controversial matter.
