Chest Pain, Shortness of Breath Triage with Provider
Abdominal pain – with n/v and / or missed menstrual period / possibility of pregnancy (reproductive age)  Urine pregnancy test
 Acute low back pain / Groin pain – without trauma or obvious cause Urine dipstick
Dizziness Orthostatic Vital Signs (BP & HR), Glucose Check
Eye Signs and Symptoms – eye redness, eye pain, blurring of vision Visual Acuity Test (put eye tray in the exam room)
Infected Wound – boils and abscess Wound culture swab and I&D tray by the bedside
Laceration / Bleeding Wound Put pressure and call provider immediately; put the patient in the procedure room.
Lower Abdominal Pain Urine dipstick (pregnancy test, if female in the reproductive age group)
Palpitations EKG
Sore throat without cough / pain on swallowing / strep exposure concern Rapid Strep screen
Urinary symptoms – frequency of urination, dysuria, blood in urine, foul-smelling urine, patient concerns about urine infection Urine dipstick
 Vaginal Itching, Soreness, Foul-Smelling, Vaginal Discharge – Concern for STI Pelvic Exam Set Up including GC/CT probe, KOH, Wet Prep.
