Background
BOOP is also known as cryptogenic organizing pneumonia (COP).
BOOP is characterized by interstitial inflammation superimposed on the dominant background of alveolar and ductal fibrosis. This is a very distinctive pattern of lung response to exposure to several drugs.

Stop the offending drug, if caused by a drug.
Oral steroids, such as prednisone, are the most common treatment for BOOP/COP
