Understanding the Menstrual Cycle

  • The average menstrual cycle is 28 days. Day 28 of the ending cycle is the same as day zero of the cycle that is about to start.
  • The normal range for a menstrual cycle is 25 to 35 days.

** Progesterone = Pro-gester-one.  Progesterone literally means pro-gestation hormone. The -one suffix is a suffix for a hormone. Appropriately named, progesterone rise helps prepare the endometrium for implantation and supporting pregnancy or gestation.
